Thrasher-Wheatley Wedding: Part-Deux

Because one post of pictures was just not enough....Here's post number DEUX!! Chris and Liz are definitely one radiant couple, who truly emanate love in every which possible way. Their wedding was not only filled with amazing people, but it had so much thought and love put into every single detail.

From the large pan of Paella, which was catered by Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, Thyme. It was truly a blast to eat!!

Thrasher-Wheatley Wedding

I don't know how else to describe this wedding, but AWESOME!!! First off, their last names are the greatest, I mean Thrasher-Wheatley; how much cooler can you get from that? It was a gorgeous Sunday in Campbell when this two wed at the Ainsley House. Started off with an awesome photo session through downtown Campbell and ended with silly masks and bubbles at the Ainsley House.

Guillaume + Stacy: Engagement Session

What an awesome couple!! I cannot wait to shoot their wedding at the Testa Rossa Winery in Los Gatos. Stacy and Guillaume originally wanted to shoot at the Palo Alto Open Preserve and last minute we decided to head on down to Santa Cruz for some fun times and great shots.

Wilder Ranch is an amazing location and a really great romantic picnic spot for any couple looking for a little alone time. Here are some of my favorite pictures...

Thank you to everyone out there who has really made Encarnacion Photography such a success in its first year. We're proud to announce that we are ALMOST completely booked out for the rest of the year taking in 30 weddings for the 2009 calendar. We're only taking inquiries for late fall.

We're so excited to be capturing all of our clients weddings and we're looking forward to all the 2010 inquiries and future brides.

Some other exciting news to look out for is the new Encarnacion Photography website which will be launching in 3-4 months. It's going to be going under major plastic surgery, but will still have all the fun goodies with a little more spice.

Chris and Liz are amazing folks!! They found us on a site called Yelp and had the most amazing email inquiring our services. After getting to know them a bit better we had learned that their last names are being voted on by their friends before the wedding. That is just awesome...

Kyle: Senior Portraits

Kyle is graduating from Santa Clara University next month and had approached us in doing some senior portrait sessions. It typically isn't something we always do but definitely something we love doing.

Engagement sessions are my sacred time to get to know the future couple before the say "I Do." It's a time where love, happiness, and loads of fun and laughter are captured at its best. Ken and Rosalie are such an adorable couple and I cannot wait for their wedding in July.

Their engagement session took place at the beautiful campus of Notre Dame de Namur University, an amazing location with great backdrops of brick buildings, greenery, and awesomeness. Enjoy, as I enjoyed photographing their session.

First off...Larissa and Carl you guys are an amazing couple full of laughter, joy, and love. Its couples like them that make me realize that the world is still going to be okay and that love can truly conquer all. They are so fun loving, energetic, and a just a great bunch to be around. We photographed them at Treasure Island as it will be the venue for their wedding later this June, which I cannot wait for!

Joannathanaris

So when it was just Joanne and myself, we called ourselves Joannathan, a neat fun trick of combining our names together.

Until Friday we had never combined our names with our daughter's (Airis pronounced IRIS) and Joanne came up with Joannathanaris. I wonder what the name will be when #2 comes along (FYI: we are not expecting, although the idea of #2 seems to always come into conversation.)

Anyways with our busy schedules of me always on the go with my clients, Joanne fully booked at the salon and Airis in school full time, we seem to find family time during my engagement sessions. My girls just like to tag along and wait in the car and play iPhone games. After I finished the engagement session with Larissa and Carl, pictures to come, I wasn't going to miss the opportunity to take a few pictures of my girls... Joanne also grabbed some great ones of me and Airis.

7 Years and many more to come!!

February 1st of 2009 was a big day for me. And when I say BIG, I mean BIGGGGG.

My own wedding photographer asked me if I wanted to help photograph a wedding at Yoshi's Jazz Club in the city. How could I pass this opportunity up. Matt and Julie's wedding was the first ever at the San Francisco Yoshi's and this wedding was definitely one to be at.

What a way to start off the '09 wedding season. Not only did I get to work for Joel Flory but I also had the chance to work with Curtis and Travis of Curtis Nemetz Productions. Can I just say that Joanne and I wish we would've known about Curtis and Travis last year when we got married, because after meeting them and seeing their work; their amazing talent and skills would've definitely been something we would've wanted there.

Matt and Julie own this awesome shoe store called District Footwear in Alameda and for the love of shoes, their entire wedding was themed with shoes, from the cake to the custom logo design that was incorporated in everything from programs to favors. Their wedding was definitely filled with tons of awesomeness!!

Dylan and Andrea

Dylan and Andrea are the kind of couple that photographers LOVE to photograph. They are the ones who can laugh, smile, and be themselves.

Dylan and Andrea met at a beach house party down in San Diego while he was in the Navy and the two continued to stay in touch over the years. I can't wait to photograph their wedding in March. There wont be any Navy Seals or F-18 Hornet flybys, but I have a feeling it will definitely be an exciting one.

Krystal and Nathan are good friends of the fam bam and also in my other blog post from a recent trip to the magical kingdom. This past weekend has been amazing weather in Northern California. I mean amazing and beautiful 70 degree weather and of course I wanted to take advantage of it. The day started off in Santana Row where it seemed as if all of San Jose had the same thing in mind, soak up the sun!

Then we headed out to Alviso, Ca; its nearby my house and a place I love to go to when I just want to shoot...

Jennifer and Toan Engagement Session

The first engagement session of the year!!! Jennifer and Toan, were such an amazing couple to photograph. We first met up at Cafe Borrone in Menlo Park, it was where they had their first date and shared their first cup of joe for many more years to come. Shortly after our meet, we headed down south a little bit to the beautiful campus of Standford University.

The architecture and quirky personality of the couple was the perfect blend that made the day full of laughter, joy, and loads of kissing!!

A second shooter arising in the family

Our almost 5 year old daughter received a Fisher Price Kid Tough camera for Christmas from her Auntie and Uncle. It was one of the best gifts ever!! My wife, Joanne created a video of all the shots she captured during the holidays...

Seeing my daughter with a camera made me a happy man. Not that she has to follow in our footsteps, but for her to envelope herself in the arts at such a young age can make any father proud!

Nadine Frost Colombo

Nadine is a 4 year old girl full of spunk, energy, laughter, and character. Nadine is about 6 weeks younger than my daughter and her mother Heather is a good friend of the family's. I remember when Joanne, the wifey, and Heather were both pregnant. They would sit on the couch in the living room comparing bellies. This past Saturday was a blast, I've been wanting to photograph Nadine for about a year and I'm so glad we got to do it. Nadine is so talkative and just a whirlwind of joy. Later that evening after the shoot, they both came over for dinner and Nadine and Airis were non stop giggles, excitement, and chatter about dolls, tea parties, and Candyland Dora.

Having a daughter is way different from having boys. It's definitely a gift that my wife and I hope to experience in the near future. Boys, just have a ton of energy!!

To Anna and Jose, man I have to give it up to you I don't know how you guys do it. Following your boys around the park to photograph was sure a work out, a well worth one, but definitely a work out. It's always amazing the characteristics I can capture through the glass, and how awesome it is to have a family with such character and animation.

First off I wanted to thank Joel and Cara of Joel Flory Photography for giving me the opportunity to shadow them during a wedding they covered. Joel has been tremendous help in helping me get off my feet with the photography business and I'm really thankful to have met a great person willing to share some insight. Joel and Cara were also the photographers that captured my wedding day, seeing them allowed me to feel a little more confident about photographing weddings and knowing that I could help be a part of someone's special memories. So many thanks out to you.

During Gabe and Alicia's wedding I was able to bring my camera around and take some pictures of the day. I didn't get too many pictures, as I really just wanted to sit back, watch, observe, and learn. I know that no matter how experienced I become, I will forever be a student and I'm happy with that. Mateo was just plain awesome! A true boy who loves sand. Literally. I had such a fun experience photographing Mateo, Karen, and Justin. We met up at Ed Levin Park for a much more serene background and then to Cardoza Park in Milpitas for a more playful park like setting. The moment Mateo saw sand, he made a bee line towards it and started to roll around in it! What can I say, "boys will be boys."

I guess its just time that I catch up to blogging. I've been so busy with shoots and business building that well it's time to post up work that hasn't been posted up in a long time.

A few big things happened today.

ENCARNACIONPHOTOGRAPHY.COM is complete and officially live as of 6PM today. Thank you so much JR Merlan of Klucid Graphic Design for being ever so diligent in completing our baby! Another big thing that happened today was I was able to tag along and shadow our wedding photographers Joel and Cara Flory of Joel Flory Photography.

Krystal and Nathan

During our last September trip down to Disneyland, not only did I get to photograph the Lockwood Family, but I also got to photograph some good friends who went down there to celebrate their birthdays.

Krystal is the receptionist at Ego Mechanix Salon, an amazing salon that my wife works at in downtown San Jose. Krystal is their captain, she makes sure that the ship remains steady on its course. Nathan her boyfriend, is an amazing bike enthusiast and a great person. I teased them the entire day because it was almost like a "faux" engagement session..

Disneyland Disneyland!!!

My family and I LOVE Disneyland, we have annual passes and have gone almost nearly 12 times last year. This year we haven't visited as often because of the wedding and other expenses we've had to endure, but in September I had the great opportunity to photograph the Lockwood Family...

A family in So Cal who hired me to spend a few hours with them and follow them around as I "CAPTURED THE MAGIC" and the memories... IT was such a fun day...A couple people asked if I was paparazzi. HEHEHE =)

Michelle's Maternity Session

It's been a bit busy around here lately with all the family sessions for the Holidays. Today was a bit of a break from all that as I got to photograph a maternity session.

Brandon and Michelle have been married for three years now, they are expecting their first in three weeks. The beautiful thing about their pregnancy is well their first is truly a surprise. During their ultrasounds, their baby was always turned another way. The best thing she said was "God really wants it to be a surprise." They'll soon find out in three weeks.

A Day with Daddy

So while my beautiful wife was out all day yesterday to have girl time, my daughter and I went out to Alviso to take some pictures out by the old Marina.

This was the same place we had taken our wedding portrait shots back in June. It was a great day right after the rain so things at the Marina were a bit disturbed.

Capture the Magic

I love Disneyland ! ! It's a place where my family and I can get away and feel like kids again. There's something about the place that just gives you an extreme sensory overload of nostalgia.

This weekend I'm going to have an opportunity to photograph a family at Disneyland and I am so excited. I've always wanted to do a project called "Capture the Magic" and it would be a collection of family moments at Disneyland.

So basically I follow you and your family around for a few hours, typically at Fantasyland in Disneyland and Bug's Land in California Adventures and document your day. Whenever Joanne and I go to Disneyland with Airis it's either one or the other who is in the picture. We never get a great family shot with all us in it. I mean you have the strangers who can take the pictures for you, but they never turn out right.

Helena and Mike Engagement Session

This past March I had the great pleasure to photograph our good friend Tatiana's wedding. A few weeks after her wedding her mother Helena got engaged to Mike.

Their engagement session took place at the San Francisco Maritime Museum. It was such a great location for them, it wasn't the typical beach type setting people take their engagement sessions at, and for them it was a special place. They had their first date here and I thought it was a great way to say goodbye to the world of dating and hello to a new long life as husband and wife.

I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next February!!

Kids kids kids!!!

The greatest thing I feel about photographing children is that they are uninhibited creatures. Their smiles can warm someone's heart and their tears can break it in just a quick second. No matter what they seem to do, you can never stay mad at them. Being a father myself, I have first hand experience.

Jean and Richard Wedding

Yesterday I had the pleasure of photographing Jean and Richard's wedding in San Francisco.

The day started off early for me at 6:30 with an hour drive up to the city. Jean was kind enough to get me breakfast which made my day that much better!

After the bridal party was all set and ready to go, the ceremony took place at the beautiful St. Patrick's Church.

We then took a little walk, across the street, to Yerba Buena gardens where I spent time photographing the newlyweds.

It was truly an honor to share their special day with them!

The Harada Family

The Harada Family including Penny their new addition was a great family to photograph. They are fun loving, goofy people, who are always filled with laughter.

We met at Vasona Park in Los Gatos at 5:30PM. The sun was gorgeous that day and everything was just right. Not too many people out there, the weather was a perfect summer day.

I grew up Michelle, and it is amazing to see how quickly her kids have grown.

Alviso, CA

Just a brief history, Alviso was first settled back in the 1700s and it was incorporated into a city in 1852. The city was originally a shipping port and was the main transportation link to San Jose until the usage of the railroad between San Jose and San Francisco increased. Today the shipping industry has left and most of the water north of Alviso has evaporated.

My hike today was fun but it was odd getting that sea salt smell from the water being so far inland. I got to see barnicles growing on rocks off the shores of the many levees located here. I even got to see a folding chair in the middle of no where. I was about 2 miles out when I spotted it and had to ask myself 2 or 3 times if it was really there.

One day I'll attempt to venture out to Drawbridge, CA, which is 3 miles north of Alviso, but it is on Federal land so I don't know about that plan. Haha.

We went to Ikea about a week ago and while we were there, we fumigated our living area downstairs to get rid of any fleas! It's been an on going battle with those nasty little guys and I think we're winning the war.

When we got home, we couldn't go in instantly so we played in the front yard. Our daughter Airis ran around, colored with sidewalk chalk while mommy watched, and I photographed.

Here are my favorite photographs, they make me feel wonderful inside when I see them. Almost like being in Disneyland, but not quite. :)
